As Lent approaches , we are reminded through various symbols to purify our speech because it reveals the truth of our inner selves, and to clarify our own sight before we presume to criticize others. Our God gives us hope and encourages faithful perseverance, promising that our work for God’s people is never in vain. Through truth and faithfulness we can produce good fruit in abundance. Even in death we are given victory through Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus, as we prepare for the holy season of Lent and the celebration of your Passion, Death and Resurrection, help us to purify our thoughts, words and actions as we seek to serve you in your people in whatever way we are called. Bless our efforts to follow faithfully in your footsteps with a sincere heart. We give thanks for the promise that the coming Paschal season brings.
