Holy Week begins with Jesus’ entry into the city of Jerusalem. We, along with the people of the Matthew’s Gospel, welcome Jesus at the beginning of Holy Week with celebration. Then we see how quickly we move from celebration to betrayal, judgement and crucifixion. Our faith then moves us to hope in Resurrection. As we enter into this Holy Week, let us let the Spirit guide us through each celebration so that our faith is deepened, our lives are hope filled and we show great love in our daily loves.
We ask your blessing on each of us today as we enter into this Holy Week. Open our hearts to the great love shown to us by Jesus. Open our hearts to showing our gratitude for the blessings of this week through our care and concern for our brothers and sisters. We ask this in Jesus name.
