First Reading: Isaiah 50: 4-7
Second Reading: Phil. 2: 6-11
Gospel: Luke 23, 1-49
On Palm Sunday we start Jesus’ journey from the triumphant procession into Jerusalem to his death on the cross. We, like Jesus, have our journey with all its ups and downs. As we read Jesus’ story, we see the people who helped with compassion like Simon and the women. As Isaiah says in the first reading, they took time “to speak to the weary.” Like the second reading reminds us, we need to “value what really matters” and make love abound as we go on our way day by day.
Jesus, our companion on our journey, give us abundant love to help us and those we meet on our life’s journey. Today we pray for those who have shown compassion to us as we made our way through each day.
